About Us

Pioneering the Future of Veterinary Antimicrobial Therapy

Our Mission

EndoPel Biologics was founded with a singular purpose: to develop next-generation antimicrobial therapeutics that protect companion animals from drug-resistant bacterial infections — without contributing to the global antimicrobial resistance crisis.

We believe that the future of antimicrobial therapy lies not in discovering new antibiotics, but in harnessing billions of years of bacteriophage evolution through AI-powered protein engineering. Our precision-targeted endolysins represent a paradigm shift in how veterinarians can treat bacterial infections safely and effectively.

  Vision

A world where veterinarians have access to precision antimicrobials that eliminate bacterial infections rapidly and specifically, without the collateral damage of antibiotics or the threat of resistance.

  Mission

To develop and commercialise AI-engineered endolysin therapeutics that provide veterinary professionals with antibiotic-free treatment options for the most prevalent bacterial infections in companion animals.

  Approach

Combining computational protein design with rigorous experimental validation to create endolysin therapeutics optimised for real-world veterinary clinical use.

Our Values

Scientific Rigour

Every decision is grounded in evidence. We design with data, validate with experiments, and advance only what the science supports.

Innovation

We push the boundaries of computational biology and protein engineering to create therapeutics that weren’t possible a decade ago.

Animal Welfare

At our core, we are driven by a commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of companion animals and the families that love them.

Stewardship

We are committed to developing antimicrobial solutions that address — rather than contribute to — the global antimicrobial resistance crisis.

Our Journey

From concept to cutting-edge platform, EndoPel Biologics has rapidly progressed toward bringing the first AI-engineered endolysin therapeutic to veterinary medicine.

Our Leadership

FOUNDER & CEO

Dr Jade Jaffar, PhD

Dr Jade Jaffar is the founder and driving force behind EndoPel Biologics. A biomedical scientist with deep expertise spanning molecular biology, clinical research, and translational medicine, she founded EndoPel to address the urgent need for antibiotic-free treatments in veterinary dermatology.

Dr Jaffar holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology (Minor: Microbiology) from the University of Washington. As a Rebecca L. Cooper PhD Scholarship recipient, she coordinated lung collection procedures for the Cell Biology group at the Woolcock Institute for Medical Research and contributed to multi-centre clinical trials in asthma and COPD inhaler technique intervention.

She is co-author on active European patent EP2609429B1 (diagnostic immunoassay) and brings extensive training in Good Laboratory Practice, laboratory logistics, and research management. Her long-standing commitment to scientific advancement is reflected in her volunteer leadership roles with the American Thoracic Society, where she has served as a Committee Member for Members in Transition and Training and as Web Director of the RSF Assembly.

Dr Jaffar’s vision for EndoPel combines her scientific rigour with a passion for animal welfare, driving the development of precision antimicrobials that protect pets without contributing to the global resistance crisis.

CHIEF SCIENTIFIC OFFICER

Dr Matthew Latif, PhD

Dr Matthew Latif is an accomplished biomedical research scientist and molecular biologist with over 25 years of proven success in R&D commercialisation. He serves as Chief Scientific Officer at EndoPel Biologics, providing scientific leadership for the company’s AI-engineered endolysin platform.

Dr Latif holds a PhD from the University of Queensland and a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.

He is the team leader behind “PLSTC” — winner of the H&M Global Change Award in 2022, considered the “Nobel Prize in Sustainability”, and co-founder of Corymbia Eco Sciences, winner of the 2025 Australian National Science Week Award. As founder and CEO of SBIR Grant Writers, he leads a team of 14 grant writers who have collectively secured over USD$227 million in competitive grant funding.

Dr Latif brings expert-level capabilities in recombinant protein expression, NATA-accredited laboratory operations (ISO/IEC 17025), in vitro assay development, and has led the creation of 13 unique PCR-, qPCR-, and ELISA-based diagnostic products. He has served as Principal Investigator on over $1.05 million in competitive NIH and NSF research funding.
